In mechanics, the quantity of Motion of a body. The linear momentum of a body is the product of its Mass and velocity. The angular momentum of a body rotating about a point is equal
to the product of its mass, its angular velocity, and the square of the
distance from the axis of rotation. Both linear and angular momentum of a body or
system of bodies are conserved (see Conservation Laws) if no external force acts on it or them.
