The maximum capacity (or effective rating), modified for ambient limitations,
that a generating (see Generator) unit, Power plant, or electric system can sustain over a specified period of time, less
the capacity used to supply the demand of station service or auxiliary needs
(such as fan Motors, Pump motors, and other equipment essential to operation of the generating units).
