The following are advantages to high speed simultaneous clearing of faults
(see Fault Current) at all line terminals:
- Improved Transient stability of the system.
- Reduced line damage and the possibility of Conductor burn-down.
- Availability of high speed reclosing, for improved transient stability,
minimum outage times or low Voltage conditions (low voltage is hard on Motors and other equipment) on portions of the system load.
