Take Time to Relax in a Missouri State Park State parks in Missouri are owned and operated by the Department of Natural Resources. They currently own more than 500,000 acres. Many of those acres are located near Webster County. A list of some of the area parks follows. Bennett Springs: Home of the third largest spring in the state, Bennett Springs is located 12 miles west of Lebanon on Highway 64. Trout from the park's hatchery stock the spring fed stream that runs through the park. Trout fishermen vie for the privilege of being the first to stand knee deep in the cold water every March on opening day. Bennett Springs offers tent or trailer camping, motel rooms and cabins, a restaurant and a swimming pool. Ha Ha Tonka: Located near Camdenton, this scenic park offers hiking trails, streams and fishing. Also located on the grounds is an unfinished castle, the construction of which was begun by a local businessman. Lake of the Ozarks: This lake, located near Kaiser, has much to offer. Tent or trailer camping, fishing, swimming, boating, trails, a camp store and saddle horses are all located on park property. The town of Osage Beach, located on the lake offers extensive retail and entertainment businesses, including outlet shopping. Roaring River: This facility, located 7 miles south of Cassville on Highway 112, also includes a trout hatchery. Trout fishing is allowed in the stocked stream that runs through the park. Hiking trails run from the top of the highest hill, down to the point where the spring that feeds the stream pours from the hillside. Campgrounds are available, as are cabins and a dining lodge. A store, swimming pool and horseback riding stables are also located on the grounds. Stockton Lake: Northwest of Marshfield, off Highway 160, Stockton Lake is located near Stockton.
